Solway Sub-Aqua Club was formed in 1963 and is based in the historic port of Whitehaven on the west coast of Cumbria and the edge of the Lake District. We are a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club with around 30 members.
The club meets every Monday evening at Copeland Swimming pool on Hensingham Road just 2 miles outside Whitehaven town centre at 8pm and then down 'The Station' pub in Parton for refreshments and our weekly lotto draw.
Our open water training takes place at Wast Water or Crummock on Wednesdays at 6pm through the summer and weekends during the winter.
Once training is complete in the lakes the Irish Sea beckons, we have a 6 metre RIB permanetly berthed in Whitehaven Marina where we regularly go round St Bees heads for the novices or for the more experienced out to one of the many ship wrecks off the coast and over to the Isle of Man for the clear waters and bigger better diving.
